Outdoor Junkiez

Conservation Through Recreation.

the skinny

Outdoor Junkiez (OJZ) is an early example of the "sharing economy" buzz; specifically geared towards the outdoor industry.

We worked with the founding team to develop a unique gear rental platform and user profile database. The website was the centerpiece of the business and we found complimentary ways to engage our target audience and build awareness of the platform through partnering with reputable brands, providing organic content generating genuine feedback about products, and celebrating the outdoor lifestyle.

We built OJZ to became a unique fusion between a disruptive, outdoor-gear rental platform and a marketing hub for the industry's products and brands.

how it's going...

OJZ is the definition of a "lean" startup. Having relyed on minimal startup capital, a lot of patience, self investment and learning along the way. OJZ became a catalyst for budget adventure seekers visiting Hawaii.

The company and founding team were featured in local business magazines, reputable travel blogs, and worked with the industry's leading brands like: Big Agnes, Tentsile, Igloo, Zeal Optics, Patagonia, GlampingHUB and more.

The company is now going through a transitionary phase and will be dormant through a relaunch that aims to refocus inventory, expand access, and a bit of fundraising.
